I never saw the winners announced for the Generations of Games contest. I don't think this is fair to those who entered. It clearly states in their own rules:

7. Prize conditions. Prizes are not negotiable, exchangeable, transferable, and have no cash alternative. The winner(s) will be contacted via Twitter or GOG.COM forum instant messaging and announced on the GOG.COM Forum within one week of the Closing Date.

However it's now nearly a month since it ended. I checked Twitter and didn't see anything there either.

you will get used to , usually it takes at least a month for them , and sometimes all just get forgotten , i bet they liked the price and just split amongst the staff

GOG has a long history of abandoning their own contests and never announcing a winner and never giving out the announced prizes for the contest. They've done that many times in the past.

For example, one time, they had users write creative stories for the Sunless Skies game, and then GOG never announced any winner nor gave out any of the promised prizes for that contest.

You mean that contest: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/sunless_skies_flash_fiction_competition_847b4/post84 ?

I'm interested to see more of these "many examples" or you're just lying.

There was a Witcher content that was not solved for around 3 years and even then that was solved by a single person who decided to look into it.

There should be a set timeframe in place to stop these sort of things happening in all honesty

Yes, I think it was some songwriting contest unless there was other too.
A Frostpunk contest from last year went silent as well. No idea what happened.

GOG has a tendency to abandon their contests. They got their PR. why worry about it further. The 6 people working in the office have A LOT to do.

*There are not just 6 people working. This is obvious hyperbole to express the fact that GOG is indeed understaffed.
One question. Could GOG perhaps never announced the winners publicly? So they would just directly send the keys to the winners. I don't usually participate in the giveaways that GOG holds, let alone winning them, so I'm not quite sure myself.

EDIT: Nvm, I didn't read the OP's post thoroughly.

Huh. I had no idea that had happened.
much face to all the palm
I know that for the Dorfromantik contest, people did actually get their prize as I was one of the winners. Although they did post in the thread also.

I'd hope that the issue with these other games was that someone just forgot to post the announcement and not that no prizes were given out either.
I found that one from 2015 which is unresolved though.
And mentioned Frostpunk contest from December 2021.

"Many times" is exaggerate but fact that it happens at all (in various points of GOG's history and without word of explanation) is of course extremely unprofessional.
