Has anyone gotten the Lachdanan quest on lvl14 since the re-release? That and warlord of blood are the only hell lvl quests that change and out of the 10 or so restarts I've done with the same character, I still haven't gotten Lachdanan. Statistically theres a 50/50 chance of getting either but not for me apparently. I always get warlord of blood and it never fails.

Yes, I had in my SP gameplay as Rogue.

Although don't get discouraged, it seems that this "random mechanism" is veeery picky. Needles to say, I had to start 5 times new game, to have King Leoric quest (in all previous attempts I always had Butcher & poisoned water quest)

Basically, the game randomize the quests. Sometimes it appears, sometimes don't.

I'm playing wih Rogue and didn't get the Butcher.

Yeah there is a pool of quests that the game picks from. I've got an old strategy guide that described which ones are in each group.
Lachdanan is a less common one even for me, but sometimes I had trouble with getting the Warlord.

I doubt they fudged with the algorithm used when they updated it.

Yep, I had the quest yesterday with Warrior.

Some games only give certain quests for certain character builds and it's not unusual as some quests are impossible with different characters and never show up.

Not in Diablo. The quests are not character type specific. They are drawn "randomly" from a pool whenever a new game is started.

I on the other hand get Lachdanan like 90% of the time. Sucks that you really only need him once for the helmet. Warlord of Blood is probably the best way to find armor upgrades. But I haven't seen him in forever.
