Due to changing hands and in-flux legal agreements, we just had to remove Descent 1+2 & Descent 3 + Mercenary from our catalog, effective immediately.

We do want to apologize for not being able to give everyone more of a heads-up, and we will be doing our best to bring them back.
Any message is better than no message, although people might have appreciated it if it had been mentioned when the situation began.

Never played those. Now, Never can...

I knew I should've grabbed them on the last sale.

Why is this just a regular post BTW and not a 'blue' one?

Wasn't this the case with the last "we had to remove these games" thread? I can't remember which games those were though, so no idea how to find that thread.

Sadly, that's unlikely to happen. I'm still waiting for the Severance BOD. Same promises were made, it's been one year and yet not sign of the game's returning.

You're probably correct, but I still think this kind of news deserves an 'official' topic as it were.

I definitely agree.
Terrible news, the Descent games are still awesome today as they were at release, real good old games.
Thankfully I have been lucky enough to receive them via the community giveaway, otherwise I would have never had the chance to get them; people who still haven't played them will miss out a lot.
I hope GOG can strike a deal with the new owners...

Certainly not good news... But i'm not sure how much it will be missed.

In the age of the internet nothing will ever run out. Except no-one will sell it any more due to ridiculous levels of legal limbo and the fact the only people who do honestly want to share with the world are vilified as pirates.

Thankfully I picked them up about a year ago, still waiting to play, but thankfully I can still get around to playing them in time.
tell the legals that their demand for you to remove the games only perpetuates piracy and loss of sales. Truth.

further you should tell them "if you just give us 3 days to leave them on the site, sales for them will be made, what, you don't want more money?"

Does this have anything to do with that "Descent: Underground" game that's being developed?

Also, get ready to read this exact post again in two weeks, only with "Duke Nukem" instead of "Descent".
