Abandonware with a lot of bugs?

Nope, not even with a 60% discount.
Added to GOG on September, 16 2022 - delisted on October 24, 2023.

The halflife of games on GOG is getting shorter and shorter.
Well at least it's discounted this time.

Thank you for notifying us! And please continue doing that in the future as well.
So like Sunless Skies/Seas with none of the gothic charm, I take it?

Looks like it was released and immediately abandoned. Devs mentioned in the Scam forums "more to come!" but then silence from what I saw. Last update was a week or two after original release, a small bug-fix. But everything I see says it basically was never actually ready for release either.

Textbook abandonware. Glad this one never moved from my wishlist to my cart.

Well, that and the simple matter of responding to reviews but never doing anything about them. Wonder if it was a situation where one really helpful dev wanted to fix it up, but ran aground of some issue?
Didn't this game just release a year ago or so? Yeah, it says "2022!" I've had it wishlisted.

I LOVE maritime games, but...

... sounds like this game is so bare bones, unfinished, and buggy that I'm hard pressed to buy in even at the sale price. *sigh*

Too bad. Hate to see a naval warfare / pirate game jump ship... er... walk the plank.

So many buggy, half-finished games these days.

But then Microprose is releasing a single dev pirate game, Sea Legends, that looks to far out-pace Maritime Calling.

Given the amount of stuff Meridian4 has here, I'm guessing they had a problem with developer Tiamat Games and are pulling the relationship, and thus support for the game.

Since the deadline has been reached a week ago already, and the game is now gone from the store...maybe this thread is (more than) ripe to get "unstickied"?
