Hey folks, the worst kind of news, unfortunately.

We need to delist Goosebumps: The Game, and we need to do it really soon, on September 17th, 3 PM CEST, which is tomorrow.

Beyond our power to do anything here. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Wait, we had a Goosebumps game here?!

Oh. Right. Nevermind.
Well, the warning came almost two months ago. From users, not from GOG, of course...
Has been on my cart waiting for a discount since the warning and nothing.

Forgot[?] to sticky topic. :)
My reaction matches that of Breja, so well marketed, GOG Marketing Team. Each of you may find a newspaper or appropriately thick tabloid, roll it tightly, and smack oneself upside it.

(Though reviews suggest the game was mid at best and moon logic at worst.)

They don't need to be transparent. Plus, the game is also being pulled from Steam. It's very puzzling.

GOG cannot sell games they aren’t allowed to sell, that would be, well… illegal.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: GOG is a store, not an archive. A store’s job is to follow copyright law, respect licensing, and turn a profit. That is fundamentally incompatible with the mission of game preservation. If you actually care about preservation, you need to look to non-profit organizations dedicated to archiving games, not a commercial storefront.

That’s not to say it isn’t valuable that GOG keeps some older games alive, working on new hardware and available to buy for new audiences. It is, but that’s not really preservation, and it never will be.

Most likely the license expired. It has been for sale for exactly 10 years now, so it was probably a 10 years license.
