Hey everyone, just read the notification internally so I thought I'd log in quickly to let you know: per the publisher's request, we have to delist Besiege (https://www.gog.com/game/besiege) from our store.

The good news in the bad news is that we ought to do it at our earliest convenience, and since I don't think anyone who can do it internally will see the request at this hour, the earliest convenience would be tomorrow morning.

If I know the hour tomorrow I'll let you know here.

Those devs won't be missed.

I'd honestly advise against purchasing the game, the devs abandoned the gog version, you're better off supporting devs that deserve it.

Although the game seems abandoned here a long time ago, some people might pick it up before it leaves. Thanks for the heads up. Cheers
I understand not wanting to support the devs, but at a bare minimum I hope people who want to keep playing are able to get a Steam key.

They should know that they would buy an outdated, unmaintained build of the game.

Sure, they will get it, as long as they are OK buying it themselves from Steam. I have never heard of a dev/publisher giving away Steam keys when removing a game from GOG.

A refund would be much better. Not from GOG's pocket, but the publisher's pocket.

I have the GOG version and yeah maybe I should ask for a refund, but I don't want GOG to pay for it. I haven't yet installed nor played it so there is no moral dilemma either.

I think they many times have, at least if you contact them directly.

Anyway I am not interested in a Steam key, I'd rather get a refund (from the publisher, not GOG; GOG can act as a middleman if they want, so e.g. GOG wallet credit would be ok too, as long as it is the publisher who pays for it).

The game looks like it has fancy graphics and little else, so maybe it's best for all involved that it's gone?

As far as I can see, gog here is up to date with the pre-latest version of the game (1.26, released last January). Only the May 1.50 update which came together with the DLC (not released here) is missing.

I've had this on my wishlist for a long time. Unfortunately the last time the game got discounted was back in early 2020 (looks like that was when the game got its 1.0 release), while Steam had 3-6 discounts each year since - color me surprised that it didn't get any sales here (which is the purported reason listed on Steam for abandoning gog).

Hey all! The game is going away today at 11 AM UTC.
I bought this game years ago on Steam.

Pretty sure it was part of a cheap Humble bundle(?), because I bought it twice (once for me, and once for a friend).
We played it maybe for a week, a week and a half, in co-op/pvp, then never touched it again.
Hardly worth the bundle price for us. Much less full price.

Oh, I see - just in time for the delisting on GOG, they lowered the price on Steam by 70% (it was full price (?) an hour earlier).

Agreed.
