Only now I have learned that Deathgate is gone from the store. I wanted to wait for a bit before buying it but now I can't

If there's anyone with a spare Deathgate gift key, I'm offering to get you any 5.99 game of your choice for it.

Also why was it pulled from the store? And was there even any notice about it?

Licensing issues, only stayed here for a few days. Didn't manage to get it myself.

Mind you, that being said, conspiracy theory part of the brain is riding on the "if they remove a few quickly, that may encourage users to quickly purchase on day 1 any further releases" theory. So it might come back at some point.

Don't know, there was a nice bugfix/cheat utility for DcotE which made playing through the game fine. Can't remember which one I had now, will check later but I think it was this one:

I tried those with Steam version and at least with my system the game kept crashing constantly no matter what I did. After the escape from the hotel, the game turned unplayable. As far I've understood, the engine is unstable to the core on modern architecture.
