I don't know why you left, and, in retrospect, it's good you didn't say anything. You saved us both some drama and clichés of the type, 'it's not you, it's me.'

The time we spent together is something I cherish, and hopefully you feel the same.

Maybe it's better this way for both of us. That way you can chase your dreams or be with someone you're truly happy with.
