My brother brought this up to me last year, had forgotten all about it. Such a crazy game.

As the story goes, Night Dive was hard at work getting the rights to all of the H.R. Giger art to get a re-release going, but then Giger died and his estate shut down all negotiations, period.
Btw I recall having tried to play Darkseed in the past, but it always crashed after the intro +_+
Oh, this was a very popular game in the past, great big box with impresive Giger art, the Great H R Giger art and aesthetic was everywhere into the game and it was the most interesting thing about. The use of the palette has aged pretty well, it is not VGA if I am not wrong but the limited pallete and use of colours helped in the general ambience. The art at service of the game.

Sadly as a proper adventure didn't was great, with some terrible dead ends that, at the time nobody minded until you could not advance in the game ;). Interesting story though

Dark Seed 2 was better and worse at the same time. As a proper adventure it is much funnier and bearable but in the art side even with the Giger designs they are not as special as the former one. It uses very similar concept and graphics to Phantasmagoria or Harvester, and they have aged worse. But the adventure is decent. It could be tricky to run in modern systems because it used a weird engine based in Windows 3.1 and it can be a hit or miss

Indeed I'd love to have those games avalable here eventually. They should be great additions for retro point and click fans.

Giger had the rights to Dark Seed? I thought he just died some art for it.

They used a LOT of his art. I'm pretty sure the art piece that was later used for the xenomorph shows up in DS2.
Voted! For me would be an instant purchase with the Spanish voices and subtitles. The second is difficult to run because of old Windows 3.11.
