Try to run the game in both DX9 and 10 mode as administrator. If this fails make sure your speakers or headset are set as standard-output device and your dedicated soundcard is used. When this also doesn't work check that the sample rate is set to 2 channel, 24 || 16bit 48000 Hz || 41000 Hz.
