Dear creators of Witcher 3,

I know you guys are quite busy with Cyberpunk, but I'm still enjoying replaying Witcher 3.

I do not know if this also affects other players but I really feel that the narrative of Witcher 3 forces me to choose Yennefer over Triss. I know there is choice but everytime I play the game I feel forced to choose Yennefer, mainly because I'm afraid she will abandon the mission if she finds out I'm with Triss. I already know choosing both does not help.

My question, can you have a poll among the people that worked on Witcher 3, (maybe during a Friday afternoon drink) who they would prefer, Yennefer or Triss?

Keep up the good work and much love!
I'm afraid she will abandon the mission if she finds out I'm with Triss.

Ahh, yo...you..the....Geral...Geralt?:)

None of the above. I choose Shani.
Ahem.
That's one thing that really bothered me right away about W3 (from what I read of it, not that I played it yet), both pushing Yen as the "right" choice and actually not allowing to choose both (actually making a darn crappy outcome if you try). I mean, if you go by the books, I guess Yen is the "proper" choice from Geralt's PoV, but really feel for Triss, and if you go by the games then she would be the "proper" choice, having been there for him all along while Yen just pops back up much later. And it's not like any of them was monogamous in the past, there's even that story in Sword... pointing out Yen having multiple long-term relationships at once too, so not just a matter of rolls in the hay, so that would make perfect sense to be worked out between the 3 of them.
So, yeah, being required to choose one pissed me off, and leading towards Yen as the "right" choice and penalizing you if you don't choose her even more so since we're talking of the games and not the books anymore. Personally, roleplaying Geralt but with my views on the situation and morals, I'd tell them both I loved them but then refuse the threesome offer/trap because that's not the point (don't know if it's possible or what happens if you do in case it is, didn't want to look further into it). However, if forced to choose, since we're talking of the games and not the books, I'd want to go with Triss (and thoroughly curse out CDP for forcing the choice)... Which isn't to say I actually will choose her when I'll get around to playing it, since it is a game and the question is how does it affect the gameplay.
Meh.
Having not read the books where apparently you could understand their bond before the games "shoehorn" Triss as love itnerest for Geralt, Yennefer came to me as an obnoxious, stuck up b.. witch.. Whereas Triss felt familiar and at least considerate of others...
If anyone cares, there is some nice Deviant Art of these characters around the web.

I am NOT posting any links in here so don't ask. :P

Yen is that, yep. And she used magic to make him fall in love with her initially, just because she needed a witcher to do something for her. But then it became real, and there are some awesome moments between them. (This is one of the best sex scenes I read, for one... You may recognize part of the pillow talk from the first game, only they put it into Triss' mouth, which makes it all that stranger for them to turn around and make Yen the "proper" choice later.) For Triss, on the other hand, it's quite a heartbreaking case of unrequited love, made worse by Yen being, well, Yen and "setting her straight", while they're supposedly good friends.

That's nothing, I found Tetris porn earlier today when I wanted to give rule 34 a run for its money.

Lets just say I'll never look at matching tetris pieces the same way again.

It would violate the COC.

Geralt shouldn't have a relationship at all, he should just concentrate on fighting monsters and stay celibate.

*looks up again* Hm, I guess it can be argued that it was the other way around, though it's never explicit. But I was referring to the fact that she mind controlled him, and that may even more directly be implied from that very specific thing than from the mere suggestion of the opposite.
