I don't know exactly how to say this, so I'm just gonna come out and do it.

You and I are the only two people actually in here.
Everyone else is an alt account of mine.
Yes, in reality I`m BigE, an alternative reality of TinyE!
TBH, I wouldn't personally do it on any site that I care about being banned from. There's no telling what changes might be made in the future about how they detect multis and over time you might accidentally do something that gives you away.

That being said, It's beyond me why sites even care. If you're not doing it to evade a ban or engage in trolling, then I don't see what the harm is. The extra expense of an added account is negligible.

If a rep system is involved, upvoting your alts? If it's a marketplace, create false transactions and ratings for buyers and sellers?

Oh I forgot, some people actually think I have multiple accounts. XD

Can't operate a toaster, never owned a cell phone, yet can hack an online gaming forum. :P
And I have multiple personalities...all of them Braggadar, with accounts for each. :P

Seems lazy, probably more a matter of it being harder to sell subscriber information if there's repeats.

BeatriceElysia: It's from 2008 forum. I'm not that long on it, maybe from 2011.
Given that they've kept it up that long, it's clear that it means something to keep it that way (I can only assume for the sake of continued community built from it).

I see you mention that it is ad-supported (which also likely means that if it isn't hosted freely through some means, the majority of money spent on it is coming out of the pocket of whoever started it) - is the whole reason behind this hypothetical thread due to them threatening bans on users who block their ads? If so, I'd re-evaluate whether it's worth continuing to visit the forum. While I won't call such behavior on their part hostile, it's needlessly backing people into a corner over something that cannot possibly be earning them anywhere near the amounts incurred to continue operations. If this is the situation, definitely seek out alternatives if you'd just rather not cave in to pressure to allow their ads to become part of your browsing experience.

BeatriceElysia: But nonetheless I don't want to get banned.
If I do multiple accounts, how can they catch me?
I'm not sure how GOG operates internally, but as a guess I would say that asking about creating fake accounts on their own forums might tip them off or something. Just a guess, dude.
