Hey all.

I've been trying to get my controller to work with Alien Breed using DOSBox mapper (CTRL + F1) with no luck. When I try to Add a binding there is no response from the controller.

I've changed certain settings in the .conf file (joysticktype=fcs timed=false).

The controller is recognised as an XBOX controller in Windows 10 and works flawlessly in Steam.

Are only certain controllers/games supported?

Thanks.
Maybe an obvious question, but have you set the controller in the game's own setup? It's all well and good configuring DOSBox, but that's only equivalent to plugging the controller in. Usually you had to run the game's setup program and choose the type of joystick you're using.

EDIT: Oh hang on, if you're trying to use the DOSBox mapper then you're not using the game's own joystick support. I was thrown by you mentioning joysticktype=fcs as I'm pretty sure that's only relevant to using in-game joystick support.

I don't have any experience with the keymapper so I can't help there.

Oh. I was under the impression that the mapper in DOSBox allowed you to assign keyboard functions to a controller. So instead of having to press the required key to move forward/up, I could use the Dpad instead as I've mapped the function using the mapper.

I didn't realise the game needs controller support also.

EDIT: Just noticed your edit, please ignore. :)
