cogadh: It's a virtual keyboard wheel (more of a spiral) that allows you to use one thumbstick to scroll through the letters, then hit a button to press that "key". It's not all that different from what is already available on consoles.

Maighstir: As in Beyond Good and Evil?
Yes, exactly like that, though the screen shots show the spiral "spins" the opposite direction.

P1na: Oh, so that's what the horrible full screen monstrosity I had to alt+F4 out of was. It popped out of nowhere and it had me quite puzzled, I must have activated it by mistake.

Personally, I only have a laptop and game on it.
Hahahaha, that was my first encounter with it as well. I got into it by accident and couldn't figure out how to get out of it and went into rage-quit mode myself. Eventually I switched to it one day on purpose to actually see what usefulness it might provide (to anyone not just to me) and I concluded that it was interesting and minimalist and that it would best suit people on a TV using a controller etc. and that they had made it for console gamer type folks. I also patiently figured out how to get out of it properly without rage too and then slapped myself for making it more difficult than it needed to be. hehe.

So I can see it has its uses for some folks but overall it's not so useful to me. I'd much rather game on a 30" 16:10 display 16-18" away from my face at 2560x1600 resolution than on my 65" TV 16:9 several feet away from my face at roughly 1024x720 or whatever its effective resolution is (rear projection CRT from 2004 era).

I bet there are a lot of others out there that have accidentally entered big picture mode and then went into an angry rage too though. LOL
Let them release what they want and people buy what they want, I'm happy with KB&M and wireless ones if I need them.

Klumpen0815: Programs like this do exist for ages by now.

Man, I've played so many games with joy2key. It's perfect for all those games that don't let you map the D-pad on an Xbox / DS3 controller.
This app seems incredibly silly. Not only have free tools been around, but you can probably write simple and better ones yourself using Autohotkey.

I've tried navigating using a controller instead of a mouse and it's.... slow... tedious.. annoying. As for how much you can allocate to a controller it depends on how complex you want to get. But seriously, i don't see anyone using it, it would be more annoying than using a keyboard and mouse.
Years ago, I used my gamepad to control VLC from my bed when I was sick/too lazy to get up to the computer, until I bought a remote.

I spent a few hours looking for a way to remove that huge button it had, before I found a skin that worked. Then steam updated itself and broke said skin.
