My computer glitched and deleted a TON of drivers, notably the internet ones. They all had yellow exclamation marks next to them on device manager; i figured uninstalling and reinstalling would fix them and the issue, but instead its messed up a bunch of my services, including system restore, HP support assistant, etc. I downloaded a bunch of new drivers, and that didn't work either. can't even make a backup disc without an error. Anyone got any ideas I could use, please?

My pc is an HP Pavilion DV6-6135DX.

Hmm, that happened to a friend's laptop that they asked me to fix. I'm guessing it's some sort of virus. I just fixed it by doing a system restore instead of trying to reinstall the drivers, but it sounds like it's a little late for that.

Have you tried to run Malwarebytes or any antivirus on it?

yes, as well as kapersky anti-virus. they deleted bad stuff.
Actually, you should still be able to do a system restore using a system repair disc, assuming the restore points weren't deleted as well.

So you had malware on your PC. My suggestion would be to re-install Windows. Why? You probably have deleted the maleware but it could have changed a lot in the background while it was active (so it does in your situation, drivers are messed up, system recovery is messed up and so on). If you use your PC for online banking I would strongly recommend to re-install Windows.
If you have to backup some files use for example a live linux dvd to do so. I don't know what malware you had on your PC but it would be better to change your passwords (after re-install of course).
But in the end it is your decision.
AFAIR HP is offering a repair utility from their website. Before reinstalling, you could give this a try.

But they advise as well back up your files ;)
You can try all sorts of fixes but in the long run,you are better off reinstalling OS.

Thx man :D
What about http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418 ?
Also pressing F11 while booting might lead you to factory settings I think.

Normally not.

Did you (or somebody else) reinstall Windows on it?
Do you still have the CD etc...?

I know it is there for Win7, friend had a HP as well with 7 ;)

EDIT: I just checked, you can not download it, only order it :(
Might be different if you connect and go to http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

and use identify. (red button on the middle left)....

Ok, doing a file backup using recovery manager, but not reading my blank disc. My drive is totally fine, so not sure what this is about.

Some drives can't read or burn on all kind of discs. Have you ever used this kind of disc before? For example one of my old drives wasn't able to use DVD−RW discs.
