While I won't not spend on Gog .. there are some studio's and publishers I have blacklisted..Till I know they will properly support games here ''Digital eclipse '' is a prime example how any games they are involved in are dropped support here but not on drm-ed storefronts and consoles in general with the same excuse sighted over and over of ''technical issues'' by them for why Gogs versions can't get updated or in other cases the games can be updated but not get the dlcs

and then the studios/publishers that tried claiming on social media gog never had nor does have a game legally for say and not a actually official lisensed seller of a game .. a prime example of thise was I forgot if it was the studio or publisher of Terminator resistance as when a dlc for the game came up and it was a huge delay reaching gog people asked on social media about it and one of them claimed what I mentioned ..

Whats more is studio's/publishers that put games up and the games never go on sale or is so rare they might aswell never got on sale after the first release sale on Gog Terminator resistance another prime example right now

What also used to be a prime example of the above is those who are involved in River City girls they used to almost never put the game on sale for years on end now they are increasing putting it on sale .. but what really got me not wanting to buy games with them involved is how they sighted lack of people getting the game on Gog and it selling alot else where .. On why they would not put any other River city girls titles on Gog despite they themselves had caused such because of the games price with almost no sales throughout the years till recentishly getting put on sale more and more

dnovraD: Any company that uses AGILE as their primary development methodology. It's the timesharing scam of devops.

Which reminds me, it's time to go see what impossible task the hiring managers at GOG are asking for this time.

• Senior Product Engineer (Frontend): This is just a webdev with a fancy title.
• Product Engineering Team Lead: An engineer's worst nightmare, the Middle Manager.
• Open Application to GOG’s Marketing Team: Shape the Future of Gaming Preservation: This isn't even a job title. Also, "Kick ass" isn't a professional statement.
• Video Content Specialist - Community Focused: Do you know how to drag a video timeline?
• Data Science & Analytics Manager: Did you think accounting was too fast paced, but flunked out of law school? Then this bureaucratic hell might be for you.
• Publishing Technical Manager (Game Releases): Remember that guy who leaked a chart of upcoming releases in a screenshot on one of the game pages? Don't be that guy.
• Senior Tax Specialist: This one is written in some kind of lunar cipher. Can you navigate the ever changing treacherous rapids that is the Polish and European Tax systems?

Oh, and there's a few companies that have demonstrated an active malice towards people, so I don't like them either.
Thanks, that was amusing and... eye-opening.sort-of. I went and checked... They do use the term "Kick ass" in that job opening, wow.

Oh well, this thread won't live long, I think.

kai2: There are MANY games on GOG that seemingly NEVER go on sale. They sit at full price (forgotten?) and NEVER (that I have seen) cycle into sales. Instead we get sales upon sales upon sales with generally the same titles.
I think GOG suggests discounts, but it's up to the publisher to have final say on sales prices. If it doesn't go on sale, I take it as the devpubs don't want to discount its games as part of its strategy (e.g., Factorio) or in most cases, the devpub is no longer on good terms with GOG to communicate with.

Breja: The way the title/OP is phrased is a bit confusing to me. Do you mean devs whose games we're likely to not want to buy at all, devs whose games we're likely to not want to buy on GOG in particular, or devs whom we hate so much that their very presence would make us boycott GOG as a whole?
Bolded, also includes publishers and partners. Association fallacy, I guess.

There's probably a lot more off the top of my head, but most of my selection are just objectively bad games that somehow made it through curation barriers that have zero place here. In that case, might as well end curation altogether and let all games be here as long as they're 100% DRM-free and not illegal.

In which case, I question the legality of several releases. There are some harlotry games whose relationships are shall we say, only legal within certain jurisdictions.
first rule of gaming, don't pay for games that use online drm platforms like steam&company
second rule of gaming, don't pay for game you don't like

There are some companies whose reputation is already damaged irreparably, at least in the way I view it. Below are just a couple of examples.

Capcom's "GOG Version" of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, was released here with many important elements nerfed/borked. Specifically, the pawn interaction system, where one could gift items via pawns. Also, the "Online UR Dragon" was mandatory in order to reap the reward of some special armor. Also, having an online connection was necessary to earn the the achievement of having defeated the UR Dragon, as documented on an (online) stone tablet leader board. I don't intend to ever purchase the next "Dragon's Dogma" offering.

Conversely, another somewhat well-known company, Square Enix, released NieR: Automata eight years ago. It is burdened with many negative story developments which have kept it from ever being the best game I have played (sic). It was just too much of a message against war, forfeiting the opportunity it had nearly earned to become a truly meritorious legend. In the end all positive emotional bonds to the characters are violently torn away. And, with that, so are any chances of a "happy ending." However, I would still outlay as much as $100.00 to $150.00 for a GOG DRM-Free copy, provided it was the full game, complete in all ways, sans DRM.
Interplay : became greedy lately ( raising base price , selling previously bundled games separately )
Whale Rock Games : unfinished shovelware
Madmind Studio : garbage
Orangepixel : overpriced , vomited pixel styled games
Shiro Games (Northgard): garbage band of thieves
As far as I know, GOG has never pressed for gaming companies to offer achievements here. There are a handful that do, but it seems as if all of companies that do offer them here have done this without any prompting from GOG's end. There are quite a few companies that offer achievements for consumers that choose Steam or other platforms, but GOG refuses to ask for them here. No doubt, achievements might seem a minor thing for most consumers here, but it's one example of where GOG hasn't pushed for its consumers.

GOG does offer some outstanding features, above and beyond of what other platforms offer, such as the rollback feature to ensure that titles remain playable for players and their own version of having a DRM-free policy. If I choose to purchase any titles in EA, I'll choose to purchase from GOG just for that rollback ability alone.
