Adol's got the island blues.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is coming soon to GOG.com.
Ready for a new round of exciting, party-based trouble? Adol and co. get stranded on a mysterious island where ferocious beasts roam. When a blue-haired beauty starts calling to our hero in his dreams, it's time for them to build a village and set out to undo the island's curse.

Watch the trailer.

Wow! This is the F-ing awsome! It seems like #'s 5 & 6 are missing from here though. I hope the whole series makes it here.

6 is here. 4 is the one that's missing.
4 is already available in China on PC, so I presume it'd be ridiculously easy to bring over to the west. Just use the English translation on the Chinese port and no extra work would be needed, in theory. I mean, fans did exactly that but I'd love an official release.

Ys VII also had a Chinese port, but XSEED did it from scratch.
Chinese PC ports are outsourced and licensed for China only by Falcom, so... no, it won't be this easy.
Sweet! That's the first NISA game on GOG. Hopefully Disgaea, Criminal Girls, Phantom Brave, etc. soon follow.

Now all that's left to see as far as Falcom is concerned is if Aksys will put Tokyo Xanadu on GOG.

The fact that they took on 7 from scratch again should be testament to the odds of Celceta happening at this point. For now 5 (Lost Kefin) is the missing link , more so given that there's never been a PC version. I smell another remake/re-imagining (like Felghana and Celceta) in the works eventually.
This is awesome. I didn't realize we are getting Ys 8 until I saw this on the front page of General. This gives me hope that we might start seeing more games like it, and especially the Nonary Games. I own them on PS4, but they are worthy of any serious gamer's time.

Not sure if I'm getting this one at launch or not, I have to see how much it will be first.
What a lovely surprise!

EndlessKnight: I really like the Ys series, but they really need to do something about their ship safety. You would think that in a world of magic, they could make it so that Adol wasn't shipwrecking onto some island, so very often. :D

Erpy: There's nothing wrong with the ships. The issue is Adol, who's kind of the Launchpad McQuack of the Falcom universe. There's a joke among Falcom fans that the Dogi+Adol ship is the only one the latter cannot crash.
That's very amusing. Thanks for sharing. :D
$60 is a bit steep for me. Wish I had more money, but I do not.

Thanks! I confused the roman numerals :(
Anyway, I hope the rest of the series comes here, especially now that VIII is here!

Chinese version has broken lighting and graphics, and is all around very subpar. It'd be better just to do a new one from scratch than try to work out the legal issues with the Chinese company on top of fixing their port.

V is the one that needs a PC port. Handling IV shouldn't be too costly.
Not that it matters, just another "I pre-ordered it", but... well, I did. Honestly, as a fan of the Ys series, this is the least I could do. I never thought NISA would bring Ys VIII to GOG, and they did, so the least I can do is put my money where my mouth is, and support them. Which I just did.

Thanks to GOG, NISA and Falcom. If you're delaying the game because you think it will be better, I'm all for it. I didn't mind waiting for Witcher III, it's an incredible game.
