Get ready for an open world RPG in which you lead a group of mercenaries in their search for wealth across a massive medieval universe – Wartales is coming soon to GOG!

In this already highly-praised title you’ll be able to explore the world, recruit companions, collect bounties and unravel the secrets of the tombs of the ancients! All with beautiful audiovisuals and impeccable gameplay.

A century has passed since the fall of the Edoran Empire at the hands of an unprecedented plague that swept the nation. Now, the land is rife with mercenary work, banditry and thievery, with honor having become an almost entirely forgotten virtue.

You’ll lead a group of unscrupulous characters in a massive open world where combat, death and a thirst for riches will dictate your day to day life. You are not the hero of this story, destined to usher in a new era of peace. Your goal is solely to survive and thrive in this harsh and hostile world, by any means necessary.

Expect a detailed system of developing your group of mercenaries, journey through a vast, vibrant and mysterious world, plethora of activities for you to do, prosper and ultimately write your story, 4 players co-op, and so much more.

Soon enough, Wartales will provide countless hours of fun on GOG!
Thanks for the video.

After having recently been burned through buying AOW 3 and its expansions, only to then find out it features microscopic UI elements and microscopic text - both of which things I hate vehemently - now I am alert always to be extra-wary of those things possibly occurring in any of these kinds of games.

And that video confirms that this game also suffers from both of those dire problems.

Finally! Whislited and waiting for release :D
So, GoG when will this game release? It was released on Steam today (4/12).
Game looks interesting. THis vs Battle Brothers?

dtgreene: I don't mind having a human-only world (though I would actually prefer a world where humans *don't* exist)
I agree.
On the one hand, I don't need "fantasy-races" in my RPGs at all, on the other hand, an RPG with "fantasy-races" only could be a nice variation on the genre.

Wartales is more of a mix of Bottle Brothers and Mop & Blade. If you like the idea of mixing up this two games, then go for it. Otherwise stick to Battle Brothers.

Bottle Brothers and Mop & Blade??? Never heard of either. What strange new strategy games are these?

GOG.com: Coming soon: Wartales

BreOl72: For a moment, I was confused.
I was thinking: "but isn't that game here already?"

But then it made "click" and I remembered the other title: "Wartile" https://www.gog.com/en/game/wartile

XD
I had the exact same experience. :-)
GOG...

... thank you for announcing Wartales "coming soon" as V1.0 releases elsewhere!

Doing so will keep me from purchasing Wartales elsewhere.

I hope this kind of day one announcement will become the norm for indie games that intend to release on GOG over time.

I just spoke with the developer of Burden of Command and he said that he may look into a GOG release AFTER a Steam release. Would love to see a similar "coming soon" announcement on its V1.0 release.

Again, thank you and hope this continues!!!

The first one is a comic name of Battle Brothers game, where your mercenaries can miss with a 95% chance attack like they are drunk to the boot. The second is Mount & Blade game where you can live a life of a swordsman mercenary or start your career as a tavern cleaner with a mop. :)

LOL. I love the second game idea. Reminds me of the Eddie Murphy & Samuel L. Jackson scene in Coming to America
I will be honest, this game look ugly and the trailer still give me zero explanation of the gameplay.
Also what the point of making story about people sitting around on a campfire only to get ambushed without reason? Also all her friends are dead, what the point yelling "We gotta go!"

Garbage game.
Don't think this was on the store page from the get-go?

"Launching on GOG before April 27th!"

Either today or within the next two days then.
This one looks like Mount & Blade x Battle Brothers. Interesting.
