Some of those backgrounds look awfully familiar. I wonder if they'll have frothy mugs of water.
"Just blatantly trace over anime, they said!" "Nobody will ever notice you practically lifted the art from a very distinct artstyle if you mix multiple!"
Why am I reminded of a very old classic anime that is still popular. I almost expected to see a transformation lol.

The protagonist is a dead ringer for Rumiko Takahashi's style in less serious moments.
First thought was "Looks like Western devs attempting anime/manga."

...which seems to have been an accurate impression:

https://www.gog.com/en/game/wander_stars

"Wander Stars is inspired by the anime the developers grew up watching in 1990’s Venezuela and shows like Dragon Ball Z, Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, One Piece and more."

https://papercastlegames.itch.io

"Paper Castle is an independent video game developer founded in Venezuela in 2013. They shipped their first commercial game “Underhero” in 2018 on Steam, and later for consoles in 2020. The team is composed of Rafael Cabrera as lead programmer, Alvaro “Kay” Dominguez as game designer and artist, Andie Gallo as writer and artist."

Currently based in Spain. Not necessarily a problem if genuine enthusiasts of the style, but I'd watch some reviews first to be sure you aren't getting "Western nonsense in an Eastern dress" if you know what I mean.
Forget the game... I want to see that Anime!!!! *__*
By the way, the Itch.io page has a demo

Release Date Announcement

"Coming September 19, 2025"
What's with all the different art styles?

The main character looks like she probably fell into a cursed spring and now transforms depending on if splashed with hot or cold water.

Then there's that robot thing she's fighting against in the first screen shot. I bet someone is looking to collect it because they want to be the very best like no one ever was. To catch is the real test. To train them is the cause.

The third screen shot has a woman with pink hair. Something about her makes me think that she powers up and when she does, her hair turns bright yellow and spikes up.

The blonde guy that's hanging out with the muscular cat man in the second to last screen shot. I feel like I've seen him before... or more actually, I've seen his art style before but from somewhere else completely that doesn't involve cursed springs, collecting monsters, or power-up people.

Finally, the last screen shot or at least it's background is reminding me of space battleships and space pirates.

Not only the imagery, but even the construction and writing style in the title cards... multiple exclamation marks for no reason, the rubbish wordplay, the use of the word "appears". They were very dedicated in this endeavour.
