The halls are alive with the sound of SHOOTING!

Tower 57, a top-down shooter taking place inside a dieselpunk tower, is coming soon, DRM-free on GOG.com.
All that's left of our crumbling civilization are these enigmatic Megatowers. Now seven uniquely skilled individuals find themselves inside one such enigmatic complex looking for answers, treasure, and trouble. Naturally, its diverse ecosystem immediately fights back, but with quick reflexes and each other's help, they might just make it to the top.

Watch the trailer.

Mmmh, not sure if it's readable enough. :/

IAmSinistar: Backed this Chaos Engine-like game on KS, glad that it will be arriving here on GOG!
Do the devs use that term? Because the screenshots made me think of Chaos Engine as well. Looks pretty good.

Bui-Tur: And if that graphics were really good! But it's not in most cases, including the subject game.

Vythonaut: I find this type of graphics the most suitable for this genre, it reminds me of good old times. And to be honest, Tower 57's graphics look great in my eyes; beautiful artwork and very detailed.
Agreed, this one has great art direction, and looks very polished. Reminds me of old SNES or Neo Geo games.

P.S.: Giant GIF pictures on game pages are still annoying.

They reference that game, and Amiga games in general. Their goal is to make a game that looks like it came from the heyday of the Amiga. In fact, they are even doing an Amiga port of the title.

Ah, thanks. Sounds like one of those cases where the devs actually know what they're doing, when making a retro game.

Yes, It doesn't look it's 'retro' to make it easy on the devs to me. Rather they've put in the effort needed to create a game that looks like the Amiga ones I played. Pixellated but still forming a beautiful well-crafted environment. Not gimping themselves but doing the best they could with the technology of the day.
