I got this as bonus with my new processor. I'm not sure it's worth double dipping, I lost interest about halfway through it. Maybe the DLC would make it better, the bundle only contained the base game... need to do more research.

yes, it releases on Steam on Friday. Hopefully it'll release here then too.

Had some fire against Metro: Exodus (which is a game I might pick up on sale), but this game got put on a glorifying pedestal after repeated FO76/Bethesda failures. I mean, the characters are hollow, flat and uninteresting, the lackluster combat/action, and the fact that it is painfully short (both in time and in quality), makes it a only a mediocre, but pricey game.

It seems the writers either took the shortest route, or they didn't know better. There's no sense of progression either.

I do think Obsidian's developers are talented, however, there's literally no "soul" to find here or anything that really sets it apart from others, other than a good idea in a cartoon style world. That and the game is actually very optimized and seemingly bugfree, so there's at least that.

Could probably be fixed with mods, like F4 and Skyrim, but the game has to be interesting in the first place.

I know I'm probably being too harshly critical here, but I honestly expected more from Obsidian. Had it come from an indie developer I wouldn't be so critical.

Need to test Outer Wilds, which seems like a game with more m*a and soul to it...

I'm so tired of the cult of diversity that want to destroy everything just to shove their nihilistic propaganda down the throats of gamers who really couldn't care less about that, and would rather have interesting characters and game world. I personally want a game I can immerse myself into and enjoy after a long day of work (or on a otherwise quiet Sunday). (Not related to this game.)

Going to add my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Until I read all these posts on GOG, I never really focused on how the characters looked, whether they were cave-man style or super-model style graphics or art. Nor did I worry over the personalities of the NPCs, it is a game after all and villains tend to do and say nasty things. Nor are the heroe NPCs going to fit the perfect mold based on our societies general views, which these days is rather diverse I would think.

Personally I care more about the game mechanics and how enjoyable the story is or at least one of the two.

I usually play games for fun and never deep dived into the cultural aspect of game designs. But then again I'm a rather simple and mostly uncomplicated person.

If I cared that much, I probably wouldn't be able to replay some of my classic favorites like the early Ultima series, Forgotten Realms Gold Box series, and so many more like them.

I like fine art as much as anyone, but I try not to let the developers choices for art direction color my perspective. I may miss out on a truly great game. Unless they shamelessly spell out their bias in their own words, which I would think is commercial suicide for any company to blantantly do so.

I'm happy see GOGers debating these topics. I think it's interesting and fun to read, though I do hope people can keep it civil. It's good to debate, even on heated topics, but at the end of the day, let's shake hands and remember our humanity.

i did try it and liked it, with the trial microsoft thing then cancelled, but could continue to play, after a week of playing without having to pay
i decided to wait and delete it.. had to format the SSD because of M$ taking control of the file system, never again will i subscribe to that due to not having control over my files and my hardware.

The Outer Worlds should take you around 30 hours, so....it ain't that long compared to other games out there.
Awesome game though.

I played it back in Xbox for PC Game Pass.

Looking forward to this coming to GOG, namely for the DRM-FREE aspect; especially for the DLC's.
