NuffCatnip: What can I say, when you simply can't stand how a certain voice sounds there's nothing you can do about it.
Don't act like you don't know the feeling. :P

Breja: That's fair enough. There's some very popular ones I can't stand (though more in live action than voice acting I think). I was more making fun of how you didn't give us a clue as to what the problem is. These days it's just as likely to be some twitter drama, or pretty much anything, really.
Yeah, after reading through my post, I didn't give a lot of info (or any info), just started to bitch about the cast, oops. :D

The only VA this game lacks is Nolan North now. *shudders*
Oh well, maybe those two have minor roles, guess I'll have to wait and see.

Most of the time VAs start to bug me when I hear them in too many franchises. It's like the sound designers/ audio directors don't know that there's a couple other actors out there.

Or if they ham up every single line of their dialogue.

Now you're pushing it :D You can't tell me he wasn't great as Nathan Drake.

Okay, he was great as Nathan Drake, they did a good job casting and directing him, but that's it. :P

In (almost) every other game I played and heard his voice I didn't think 'hey, he is great as character xyz', but 'oh, that is Nolan North, doing the exact same voice he does almost every time'. At least that is how I feel about his performances. The same goes for the other two VAs I mentioned.

Yeah, Nolan North and Troy Baker are cast as often as they are for a reason, they are talented VAs, but I'm personally not a fan. :)

All I can say is that I'm rather particular about voices (and noises/sounds in general). xD

I guess I'm just not as overexposed to them. Looking now though North's credits, most stuff he was in, at least as a major role other than Uncharted, I either have not played or played very little of. I mean, as much as I love that game, I can't say his performance as Girard in Swat 4 exactly stuck in my mind, for either good or bad :D
I'm looking forward to this as I wouldn't mind if more video games were musicals. It's an intriguing concept. Also wondering what the singing will sound like. Will the video game actually be in the format of a musical? Is it going to be like 90s Broadway Style Beauty and the Beast or more modern like Hamilton or will it be along the lines of Pitch Perfect.

Bet you'd never notice he voiced the Penguin in the Arkham games. Nolan North is a good voice actor. It's not his fault studios ask him to use his normal guy voice.

You can watch a LP of the demo to see what the music is like.

I won't dispute that he's a good voice actor, but it's like you said, he often uses his normal voice and I'm sick of it. :)
