The rights situation is extremely convoluted, and one of the stakeholders is Microsoft, so the short answer to your question is never.

Be thankful we have this.
Honestly, I'm hoping for just a complete edition release.
It sucks its not clans, but hopefully their continued development is a sign MW6 is being created and it involves the clan invasion.

Really Ill take any additional content, I waited around 15 years for this game and it was worth the wait. The mods just make the experience that much more amazing and at least modders added the clans.
I'm expecting the clan invasion to be mechwarriior 6 since it's a generation ahead of the 4th Succession Wars and the War of 3039 (this one). You won't really have the freedom of movement that you get right now. It will be more like FTL, where you lose access to parts of the map over time as world after world falls and you're desperately trying to survive and hold off an overwhelming enemy flood. I mean, if the elite frontliners are dropping like flies, what's an independent merc to do? Do you want to play a captured bondsman?

Well, who knows. I'm kind of...wtf right now with this Otomo promotion. Otomo?? Really?? I was thinking of a brand new unrevealed Ghost Regiment or Genyosha. If this is Theodore's story, there's no way the Otomo are fighting for him. They're the bodyguard unit of the Coordinator. They basically never leave Luthien. I think you only see them for a bit when the Jade Falcons and Nova Cats hit Lutihien. Did these guys read Robert Charette's Heir to the Dragon?

Not even Night Dive could pull it out of this copyright hellhole?

I love that there are publishers now that are known for untangling rights messes.

I was legit thinking that we would never get to see Turok games being brought back for the modern systems, but lo and behold! Night Dive came to the rescue and are even in the process of finishing up the last game in that trilogy. Not to mention all the other games they pulled from the licensing purgatory.

Night Dive and Microsoft might be real close friends these days. Quake 1/2 remasters were done by them for Microsoft and they've done such a great job that we might see them get more oldies to bring back. At least one can hope...
