A minimalist strategy game all about building cities on colorful islands which conquered the hearts of players. Explore an infinite number of ever-changing new lands, expand your settlements from sprawling villages to vast cities and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere – without investing hours on end into stressful resource management.

While simplicity is the key, ISLANDERS lets you create and explore your own little worlds, while providing enough depth for anyone who wants to challenge themselves.

about fucking time for islanders. and it's still not here, just your always useless 'coming soon' announcement whether there's an actual date or not, and it can be 2 days or 3 years.
Wishlisted Islanders. I look forward to this one.
Islanders looks like a nice little puzzle-like game. Worldless doesn't look shabby either.

GOG.com: Worldless

A stylised 2D Adventure Platformer with turn-based combat and a mind-bending, interpretative narrative. You will walk the line between physical and astral planes within a shapeless world, embarking on a journey of self-growth and understanding.

Jump, glide and dash through an indeterminate setting, uncovering its secrets and finding their place within a mind-bending reality.
Definitely the more intriguing (visually, but also genre-wise) one out of the two, at least as far as I'm concerned.
From the Worldless game page: "Define the world and challenge its secrets in a mysterious narrative left open to interpretation" In my experience "open to interpretation" means pointless and/or meaningless, but I suppose I will reserve judgement for now. Otherwise the game looks pretty interesting/fun. I will be keeping an eye on it.
