There’s a certain magic that can only be found in classic titles. We know that very well and we are also fully aware that so do you. That’s why we are that much more excited to announce that…

4 awesome classics from SNEG are coming soon to GOG: Spelljammer: Pirates of Realmspace, DeathKeep, DragonStrike and Fantasy Empires!

Spelljammer: Pirates of Realmspace is an adventure RPG with strategy elements that provides swashbuckling excitement and the magic of D&D adventures, but in wildspace! In this gem you’ll captain your own Spelljammer ship, recruit officers and crew to man your magical ship, and soar into the ether and explore the planets of Realmspace.

DeathKeep is a D&D dungeon delving the way you like it - fast, furious and fun! An evil Necromancer has escaped from his icy prison and is wreaking havoc upon the surrounding lands. Journey to this frozen wasteland and destroy the forces of evil - if you dare.

DragonStrike is the first-ever dragon combat simulator! In this title the deadly skies above the Dragonlance game world of Krynn explode before your very eyes. The first-person viewpoint propels you into a fully animated, 3D world of action and excitement. So to the skies brave knight - and victory!

Fantasy Empires is a D&D adventure and the first title to feature a computer Dungeon Master who mediates all elements of the game play. Create alliances, defeat enemy kingdoms and forge an empire in this exciting world. Under the computer Dungeon Master, you’ll interact with fantastic races, command dozens of troop types, send your heroes on quests and construct a variety of buildings and fortifications.

We couldn’t be more excited! Make sure to wishlist those masterpieces so you won’t miss their release dates or any special offers. Let’s relive the nostalgia.

DoomSooth: DragonStrike!

Take my money, NOW!
Used to play this one, back in the day. There was nothing like it. It was good but tough. You also had to make choices now and then. I would advice to get the feather that slows falling...

Catventurer: You can have your dragon shoot out fireballs at things, but I remember this being limited such that you do end up spending most of your time dragon jousting.

00063: I think i'm just gonna stick to Divinity: Dragon Commander for now.
Having finished and enjoyed both, they are completely different games. One is a (land) strategy game with (personal) support from the air, the other is a dragon riding simulator for epic battles in the sky (with some missions being different, as in, fly stealthily, destroy some ships, and so on).

Also, Dragonstrike is tougher, although YMMV. You are expected to handle your dragonlance (tm) and **point it** at your enemies as you charge them, besides using your dragon's breath (the dragonlance is more deadly, but has a limited reach). Your dragon also has talons, and you have a sword that you might use automatically, for some chance short distance side passing. It is not adviced to attack another dragon from below (it will be your flesh against said talons).

Your advantage: You are facing mostly evil dragons and draconians. Dragons have their natural arms, but you are in a team of knight plus dragon. Meaning that you have your dragonlance and your sword. Plus your cause is the good one :) You will be outnumbered in many missions, sometimes you will have team mates, some times you will fly solo. Some mission titles come to mind: Cavalry, Pincushion. Nice tough game, possibly with outdated graphics if you care.

I still own my boxed copy of Birthright. It comes with a DOS and a Windows version, two different exes, the last time I tried I was lcky runnning even the Windows version via wrapper, ddrawcompat, If my memory does not fail, The DOS version obviously runs fine, but probably is a bit more demanding considering that it is a SVGA game, maybe a bit laggy in the dungeon crawling part of the game.

As a curiosity the 3D part was done with a heaviliy modified DOOM engine in SVGA. the dungeon combat can be played even in turn based mode as an option.

I'd love to see the game here, indeed.

Another favouite of mine was Pool of Radiance Myth Drannor. huge maps and atractive isometric party turn based pure dungeon crawler. I also was lucky running it smoothly with the same ddrawcompat wrapper. These and maybe Blood and Magic, a not well known RTS, are probably the only PC Dungeons and Dragons titles left in GOG, aside of the incoming SNEG games as expected.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot the t buggy Descent to the Undermountain from Interplay

Praymettin: Spelljammer is finally coming to GoG! It has the most unique setting and most unique types of gameplay, even today it doesn’t have an equivalent coming to mind easily. [...]

Fantasy Empires was another one I was looking to play, as I heard only good things about.
[...]
I am interested in Spelljammer as well, this setting with ships navigating the aether looks interesting. Then, Fantasy Empires looks attractive to players interested in strategy.
Is it much farther, Papa Smurf? Really looking forward to DragonStrike.

Also, anyone happen to know what SNEG stands for?

On Steam they're marked with release date March 2023, so should be very close.

I don't know if I'm looking wrong, but I couldn't find any website or even twitter account belonging to SNEG company. And i was looking earlier, back at Wiggles release.

Don't seem to have any on-line presence. All I found while looking up was what someone else dug up. Former GOG employees broke off in 2020 and took up fixing and publishing old games after GOG experimented with the idea itself for a bit before that.
In fact Oleg Klapovsky, founder of SNEG was one of the responsibles of bringing the old Gold Box Games and a lot of SSI games to GOG before he departed.

I always enjoyed this article (below these lines) about the odyssey it was to ressurrect those games, not available before in digital stores.

I am sure this movement inspired others like Ziggurat etc.

maybe I am a cynincal old bastard, but I don't think the annoucment of these and the Silverbox game coming just a couple of weeks before the new D and D movie opens is a coincidence.

Nothing cynical about it, I think that's exactly the case. And I think it's great marketing.

Will the movie be in EGA or VGA? :)
Nah, I'm too masculine for these games, I'll pass.
