I wanted to surprise my husband and get him Pillars of Eternity for V-day. I accidentally bought it for steam instead of GoG. When my son came down for breakfast and noticed my mistake i came to GoG to see if you have it and you do and its on sale.

My question is can i buy the add-on expansions for the game here to use with steam or would i have to buy both the game and the expat ions on the same game platform.

Unfortunately there is no cross-platform between GOG and Steam so buying the add ons here would be useless. Closest thing is GOG Connect which let's you redeem a game purchased on Steam here but it's only available during certain periods.
If Pillars appears in GOG connect, you could then redeem it and get the add ons here but there's no telling when or if that could happen.
Hope this helps.

Edit: I just remembered you could refund the game on steam (if you bought it in the last 2 weeks and have played it for less than 2 hours) and get it here along with the add ons.

I just edited my post since I remembered about Steam's refund policy.
Thanks. I checked on that. I bought the code threw a 3rd party on sale so he's stuck on stream till GoG can link that one but Hubbie said he's ok with either one thankfully. :)
Wish MY wife would buy ME games... <grumble grumble>
I'm not judging, but for a second there I figured the son and the husband were the same person.

dlux, your son deserves a pat on the back for embracing DRM-free. Good on him.

We're both out of luck, then. But at least she tolerates this hobby. Good enough for me.
Damn, you're a nice wife. :P
