Hello, community!
On March 3, GOG suspended sales for users from Russia and Belarus. On March 21, GOG stopped publishing Russian-language news on the main page of its website. Today, May 24, GOG closed the Russian-language forum branch. Thus, GOG deprived Russian-speaking users around the world, for example, in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, where Russian is the official language, as well as in Arab countries, whose languages ​​are not represented on the site, access to information. But the most offensive thing for me personally, as one of the representatives of the backbone of the Russian-speaking branch, was that we were simply put out on the street, not even giving us the opportunity to pack our bags. Thanks GOG. Such a step should definitely increase user loyalty (sarcasm). I think now we should wait for the removal of the Russian-language version of the site and the freezing of the library of games. Sad. Very sad. Sorry, this is just a cry from the heart of an apolitical gamer. And yes, I beg you, no politics, insults and other violations of the forum rules in this thread, please!

Сегодня 24 мая ГОГ закрыл русскоязычную ветку форума. Таким образом ГОГ лишил русскоговорящих пользователей по всему миру, например, в Казахстане, Киргизии и Таджикистане, где русский язык является официальным, а также в арабских странах, чьи языки не представлены на сайте, доступу к информации. Но самое обидное лично для меня, как одного из представителей костяка русскоязычной ветки - нас просто выставили на улицу, не дав возможности даже собрать чемоданы. Спасибо, ГОГ. Такой шаг однозначно должен повысить лояльность пользователей (сарказм). Думаю, теперь стоит ждать удаления русскоязычной версии сайта и заморозки библиотеки игр. Грустно. Очень грустно. Извините, это просто крик души аполитичного геймера. И да, очень прошу без политики, оскорблений и прочих нарушений правил пользования форумом в этой теме, пожалуйста!

Didn't you know? EVERYTHING is political! And if a leader of a country makes a decision, everyone else from that country is responsible for it. At least, in case of some cuntries and some decisions.

Probably not much of a consolation, but just like the sales suspension this is only temporary.

War is a terrible thing, with innocents suffering on both sides.

But take some consolation that in this case it is only game related, unlike life related. I know it's not much consolation, just that things could be far worse.

Someone once said .... Life isn't meant to be easy, and that sure seems to be the case for most of us.

Ultimately the suspension involved here will only be temporary, so just bide your time is my advice.

Unfortunately, wars have their casualties. It always affect people who have nothing to do with either side's army or belligerent effort. To some people it causes the loss of a house, to others the death of a beloved one, to others the promise of a harsher future, and yet others face economic and even social restrictions like these affecting you.

Hopefully the current war will end soon with a peaceful and fair resolution so civilians on both sides can go back to their normal lives.

This begs the question: were there many violations of the forum rules in the Russian threads?

Because that could be a reason for this.

To give an example: my eMail provider has an open "forum" (more of a news-feed actually), where people can comment under the (more or less important) news of the day.

And...surprise, surprise...many people abuse that freedom to spread their hate, conspiracy theories, etc., in such high numbers, that my eMail provider has no other choice, but to close the possibility to comment.

Menawhile the option to comment is almost permanently disabled, but from time to time my provider gives it a new try - only to find, that as soon as the possibility is given again - the troublemakers are back, and the comments have to be closed again.
