I said it before, and i say it again: I like this short style.

I usually don't read the blurb before I check out a new game.
And why should I, since that short description alone won't tell me if I'll like a game or not.

Of course - I am a very special kind of GOG customer:
I actually click on every link to new games or sales, and open them as separate tabs.

Then I click through these tabs one after the other, to find out about the game(s) on offer.

- If a game interests me and is offered to a price that I'm willing to pay - I put it into my basket and check out (after I'm through all the tabs)
- If a game is interesting but still a little too expensive - it goes on my wishlist
- If a game is of no interest for me, I'll see at the first glance - and simply close the tab again. End of story.
Great art styles, will keep an eye on them for release.
Souldiers looks like my kind of thing, even if that name is, well, silly.

richardjmoss: Speaking for myself, these bare-bones announcements don't exactly whet the appetite.

Trooper1270: I know, and in some ways, I miss the older style announcements that would give readers a hint at what the games were about, before one needed to click for further information, if they wished...

The thing is, these brief (put mildly...) announcements are apparently being used to test things out for a while. So, I guess, depending on the feedback received, decisions will be made whether to keep them or not...
Well, in the past the actual links to the games were sometimes hidden away in a wall of text. That was too much, but this is a bit too little.

I'd say start the announcement with something like "We welcome these additions to our catalog: (bulleted list with links to the game pages)" (or "We welcome -linked title- to our catalog" for a single title) and put the blurb(s) below the bulleted list/welcome line.

The thing is that suits may well look at the results of these announcements, with maybe more people clicking to the game pages even if they'd have no interest whatsoever in the game (and therefore closing that tab an instant later as soon as seeing a few words from the description or even some additional genre descriptors) and possibly also more going to the forum and commenting just to complain about this "style", or to reply to those complaining, and see "increased engagement => success!".

I just picked a random date for a front page snapshot from GoodOldGOG days, and the release announcements showing up there. How's this for comparison:
