We have some exciting news! Stillborn Slayer is coming soon to GOG – and while you wait, you can check out the Spark in the Dark demo!

Stillborn Slayer
It’s a top-down shooter with beautifully crafted pixel-art, set in a cursed Dark Continent, where the Ichor of the Horned God has corrupted and blighted everything in its path, bringing about a never-ending night, shattered earth, and time loops. In a gameplay full of challenging boss fights, exploration, and complex combat, you’ll get to master dodging and rolling skills to fight incomprehensible monsters and slay the Horned God to end the Curse.

Spark in the Dark
It’s a hardcore dark fantasy dungeon crawler where you will go to the endless depths of a mysterious grim dungeon. Expect 5 classes of heroes each with unique skills, bloody battles with monstrous creatures and deadly traps, a lot of interactions with the environment, many secret places, deep and intricate lore, and more – and you can now try out the free DEMO!

Stillborn Slayer seems like a more methodical take on this bullet-hell-survival-action thing that's so hip with the kids right now, probably going to give it a chance.

Thanks for the Spark in the Dark demo, don't know what it is (probably the top down perspective, the ambience and overall atmosphere) but it comes across as being much closer to the original Diablo than the Souls and Souls-like titles that are mentioned as the main inspiration.

It's actually also the new federal crime law Republicans passed in the United States after Roe V Wade was overturned. Charging any woman who miscarries. Also, during your period, back in the box in the woods for a week - that's your punishment for murdering a potential human life by not getting pregnant.

Tried that Spark in the Dark demo on itch.io before it showed up here. I don't think it's for me.

Yeah, I agree with the others that Stillborn Slayer is an awful name.

Bullshit. There's no such federal law. The problem is with very outdated laws in separate states that may be used to criminalize such. Hope you don't live in a "small"(-minded) government red state.

Reading "hardcore" also immediately turned it down for me, although the graphics looks interesting. I still might try the demo sometime when it runs on Linux.

That demo should also have some system requirements listed, past just the OS, since it does already exist, unlike the actual game...
