You should in theory be able to do that by editing the goggame-#######.info file and changing the "name" parameter, but it seems that Galaxy will autocorrect the displayed name if it's a game it identifies. Works fine for games not yet on GOG, will have to see if the name is stored in a second location as well.

Edit: Seems like you'll also need to modify at least one .db file in %ProgramData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage though Galaxy seems to have modified it again, and I didn't keep its name. I think it was the buildslist.db one.
Unsure if you need to do this if you import a folder that you've already modified the goggame-#######.info file beforehand, and do be aware that messing with the .db files can cause Galaxy to lose the list of installed games, though the files will still be there.

Just out of curiosity, why would you change the name of a game in your library? I can see needing/wanting to do that with manually added non-GOG games, but why would you need to do that for any game GOG already identifies?

Maybe he just wants to rename Pony Island to Murder Island so that it more accurately tells what the game is about?

Same reason why you asked this question

Done that plenty of times with game icons, even if it only shortens the name.

Some games have long-ass names with multiple colons (pun absolutely intended) which are getting cut off.
Some games have stupid qualifiers appended to he name, such as the oxymoronic Limited Edition.
Some games are on GOG with a title other than the one you might know them by.
- Maybe you want to display a localized title in your native language. Only a few games have multilingual titles.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

I realize that this was posted some time ago, but has there been any updates that allow you to change game names in Galaxy? I also find it frustrating not being able to change names in my library, but GOG never seems to fix the issue.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting, if I were you. This thread is the only one I've seen where anyone has even expressed a desire for this feature, so it can't be too heavily sought-after.

I'm curious: do any other store clients let you do this? (Not counting any "add non-[Store] game to library" features, to just use a given client as a launcher for a game bought elsewhere.)

Doubtful, but it would be nice to see this feature added. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would appreciate this feature, regardless of whether or not they brought it up in the forums. More customization is always a plus.
