I fuckin' "love" how gog doesn't let me see the changelog of games I hadn't purchased to check which patchlevel they are offering ... makes decisions quite easier: not buying at gog. (after the "one world, one price" betrayal among other bad decision makes gog somehow obsolete for me .. still waiting for "DRM hurts our sales, we HAVE to embrace DRM, publishers are threatening the lives of our first born child blablabla")

To be fair, it is a legitimate reason. There are many known cases of games here on GOG that are lacking some (or many) updates. Being able to see the current version of a game would definitely help to make a more informed purchase.

What I don't get (and don't think it's called for) is the overall tone of the OP.

Well, most games on GOG actually do have a changelog. But it`s true that you only can see it after buying. But then again, there is the forum. If you kindly ask, most people are willing to share their wisdom about the changelog and might even copy and paste it for you to read!
So please, don`t complain, einfach mal freundlich nachfragen!!!! :-)

The changelogs for all the games that have them are accessible via MaGog, regardless of whether you own the game or not. Here is a link for all the games that do have a changelog.

Every time there's a new game such as ANNO 1404 for example; you'll notice johnathanamz (probably not spelt right) make a lovely thread about how GOG has fallen off its promise wagon and so on.
I always make the stupid mistake of engaging.
To cut it short - I don't enjoy them one bit lol.
