When I go to my profile, it says access denied. It just shows the url as gog.com/u instead of gog.com/u/King%20Ghidorah

Oddly, I can view the profile on another browser where I am not logged into gog.

Have you tried to clean the cookies of your browser?

And completely log out/in again?

Sounds like a common problem with names, since ID's aren't by number with just a front name, instead it's the actual name. Where conversations of 'XYZ doesn't exist' or other such nonsense.

After changing your username, you should receive a notification that your profile may not work up to an hour. It seems to be working now :) Please check again.

I found that I had to log out and back in again after changing my name.

Thanks. That's what it was I guess. I missed that notification, if it ever showed up that is.
