Breja: I cringed at the Gwent plug a little, but it's a nice video. It would probably get a stronger reaction from me have I played Witcher III.
Witcher 3 has a mini game called Gwent, the game came out of this one. It's the focus of few quests (one with Zoltan as well, the dwarf who is shown playing in that video), and this was before they thought of making it a standalone game so you can't say that was a plug as well.

I know all that, but I think it's pretty clearly a plug here, it just seems awkward and prodcut-placement-ish.

But maybe it's just my impression, because how I don't like Gwent. Not really the game itself, I haven ot played it, but the very idea of a a Witcher collectible card game and CD Projekt diving into that multiplayer online microtransaction focused type of gaming. I hate what it did to Blizzard and would hate for CDP to follow suit.

Oh I assumed you weren't aware of the other details since you said that you didn't play the game. Yeah I don't play Gwent standalome much either but if there's money in CCGs (and there is judging by the number of IPs going that route) it'd make no business sense to let that opportunity to to waste and as long as that part of business stays away from parts intended for its core audience I see nothing wrong with it.

Edit: I'd say it would be more of a plug if Yennefer or Triss were playing it since Witcher 3 don't show any excessive inclination of those characters towards it. Zoltan on the other hand wants to play Gwent while they're waiting to ambush in a quest.

MajicMan: Funny. Doug Cockle doesn't have a Yanks accent either (to be fair we have several different accents and speech patterns and word usage in our country depending on where you are - Southern drawl, Cajun accent, Boston, New York, New England, Midwest, California, Texas, Hawaii, Minnesota/Wisconsin).

He was born in California, but resides in the UK so his accent is a cross between the two which is why neither side of the pond can clearly identify with it, nor can they completely dismiss it as out of place. I personally think he was a great choice and fit the character perfectly.
You forgot the best US accent ever! Imagine if Geralt had a Fargo accent, that would have been epic yah. :)

That is the whole Minnesota/Wisconsin accent I mentioned, don't ya know? :)

Canadians have a different accent too from Americans, Brits and Aussies (who each have their own) . even inside of Canada. The Marinetimes, Quebec, Ontario, the Prairies all have different accents. And the number of "newfie" jokes told across the country - especially Ontario and the GTA - will let you know of regional differences.
