I haven't posted here in years! I haven't even kept up with the game offerings. How many of you are still around from those days? What's been happening around GOGland the past 3 or 4 years?
Witcher 3 came out and broke a bunch of records. GOG pushed Galaxy out of "beta" and into full swing, causing a stir. People got angry about all manner of things. Coelocanth changed his name to GR00T. Barefoot Essentials and MaGog are still around. TET left.

Be more careful if you enter giveaways. Be ready to have people be grouchy at you. Get used to using Galaxy. That should do ya.

I've been here since my birth! (GOG-birth, that is)

As for how's GOG nowadays, I'd like to use the old Thai proverb: same same, but different.

It's improved(tm)!
I was gone the same amount of time and GOG seems pretty much the same to me. Same arguments, same preferences. ;)

I'm having some minor trouble prioritizing which games from the last few years to play first once my new PC is built, but I'm leaning toward starting with Fallout 4.

Which is not on GOG yet.

No reason to comeback to the forum.

I don't think that is stopping him!

Anyway, it would be interesting to know what GOG releases, if any, the returning prodigal sons find interesting. Like being "Wow, that game on GOG? How can it be?!?", or is it all just a big fat MEH!

Like, is it a big news to them that Paradox and Bethesda are now on GOG too, or that Heart of China/Rise of the Dragon/Willy Beamish appeared here (if they are more into older classics on GOG)?

I've personally been quite delighted with the "less than a decade old AAA-titles" appearing on GOG, but I guess for many it is "But it has been on Steam for ages? I don't want games like this on GOG!". Oh well, not my problem, as long as I am happy, I am happy.

Fallout4 is a cheap cheeseburger. There's nothing wrong with it. You can get in, grab a bite, and get out quickly. It's fine. You might even enjoy it a little. But in the end there's nothing that will make you rush to recommend it to others, and there are better ways to spend your time and money. It might fill you up, but it won't leave you wanting more.

Still, what's on your list? Fallout4 might deserve to be fairly high on your list if you're wanting a shooter-light shooter. But I'd still recommend stuff like Thea, or Halcyon 6, or UnderRail, or Divinity: Original Sin, or Torment: Tides of Numenera, or Grim Dawn, or Witcher 3, or Shadowrun: Hong Kong, over Fallout4. Depends on how many years back your backlog goes.

Have to agree. Playing Fallout 4, and am probably 80% to completion. Its all ok. CAn't stand the workshop/crafting part. But otherwise similar to NV and F3. Its just lacks anything wow about it, quests are bland, and half are repetitve (quite literally). There is no story as far as I can tell or purpose in completing the game. Action wise, shootouts are good, enemies have a sort of AI. It also suffers from the environment that F3 and NV did, its big, and empty feeling. I kind of just want it done now. Maybe in the future when its heavily modded then it will be better.
A few games that were abandoned were removed for sale; a first for the site. Including the absolutely failed airship builder game inspired by Terraria, Windforge.
Tauto and I got married.

I'm one of those weirdos who loves stuff like Pillars of Eternity and Fallout 3 both, they're just good for different things. Though I know I'll miss New Vegas' much better writing and role-playing elements.

Other stuff on my list (which I am quickly buying in this weeks sales!) is GTA5, Prey, Alien: Isolation, Dishonored 2, Bioshock Infinite DLC, Risen 3, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Mad Max and probably a lot more. I hadn't touched a game since Dragon Age Inquisition so quite a lot to catch up on, a lot of it being stuff I don't know exists.
Shit, I forgot about Mad Max.

Oh well, maybe during christmas.
