So i was trying to buy a game on GOG with paysafecard and first it wanted on their page that i prove if i am human by clicking a box on the checkout for paysafecard. I have an account for paysafecard so when i entered my password and the checkbox and then i got several captchas that i had to solve. And then i could buy the game i wanted.
Seems when asking copilot something it also gives me a checkbox to prove if i am human but there i didn't get captchas.
And i posted this thread because the search function on gog currently doesn't work so i could not find the captcha thread.
Just asking to see if other people get something similar.
Seems like trying to buy games the last minute isn't good since you could get stopped by captcha. But the game i bought i still had a lot of time the 3rd hyperdimension neptunia game.

Totally dunno... i was buying games without "solving" a single captcha for years already.

Hard to figure out but i guess those "normies" use those standard-software which is usually full of bloatware, captchas, spyware and whatelse... and they usually love it else it would not have a like 95% market share. Nothing i can tell, as i use what i personally enjoy and it seems to be the right decision.

One usually gets captchas when the webpage detects "suspicious" activity. Don't ask me what that entails. But even stuff like VPNs will trigger it. I once turned on a built-in browser VPN for a minute and Google basically got an aneurysm. Got blacklisted from Captchas (they refused to load) for like 3 months after that.

I was wondering when this thread was going to show up again. I wonder who won the betting pool this time?

I won a small lottery. I had to solve three catchphas to log into GOG three separate successive days with all other variables remaining the same, ending yesterday. Today I didn't have to!

No I practically never see CAPTCHAs in GOG.

Suggestions:

1. Don't use VPN.

2. Use a different browser with default settings, and don't install any additional adblockers and privacy filters and security enhancements. Just plain EDGE, Chrome or Firefox with default settings.

Do you still see CAPTCHAs? No? Told you.

I use EDGE, no vpn. Don't think i use anything extra i at least have panda dome antivirus installed.
And i got the captcha at paysafecard page where you either need the 16 pin code or password for account which i have.
This is new as it was never like this before.

That one is actually quite easy to answer: not using Google Chrome (or a skin of Google Chrome like Edge, Vivaldi or Brave) is suspicious, not using a Google account is suspicious, using an ad blocker is very suspicious.

Seem to be getting them a lot lately, i swear one even had a time restriction, or it could have been a w-ifi error, and i had to do it again 30 seconds later.

Yeah, I don't remember ever getting captcha pop ups on GOG in the past, but I've been getting them fairly regularly when I log in lately. I'm not using a VPN, but my cookies get cleared every time I close my browser, meaning I have to log in each time I open Firefox. And I'm using uBlock, obviously, the internet being borderline unusable without it. So probably something to do with that.

And again: I don't use Chrome, I don't use a Google account and I use an ad blocker. No problems :)

Linux, Firefox, uBlock Origin + uMatrix.
I do get captchas randomly. Can be nothing for several months, then 5 captchas in a row only to be able to log into my account.

By the way, are you really sure you don’t have a Google account? Don’t you own an Android phone?

Nah... i still use a evil Windows 10 for gaming but my other stuff is "far away" from being legit:
Firefox, Add-blocker, Anti-tracker, not any account at all except GOG account (on the gamer PC)... should be extremely suspicious.

I got a Google account on the Android phone but there is zero link to my gamer PC, not even the same Email nor the same internet connection (PC is over fibre and the Phone is over 5G°°). So, yes, if for example the PC or the phone will lose its connection for whatever reason, i would always have a backup-connection. It is as good as impossible cutting me off the internet... and i still value offline-installers A LOT... this is indeed very suspicious.
