I tried reclaiming the game on GOG but it didn't work

I know they ran a thing some years back where you could use your cd key for a few titles to redeem on GOG, however I thought that had finished? Cant find it anywhere. Anyways, you don't say what "didnt' work", so all I can assume is your cd key was not recognised or not valid. Or just buy it, its only £3 at the moment on sale (might even get it cheaper).
