wanted to send this to support but can't get system report file and it won't send w/o it.

Try to install NWN2 from the 3 files that I d/l from you.(1 exe and 2 bin )
I get the error for VB005 missing, then runtime error 69:445

will this not work on 16.04.1?
Do I have to download it again?

I did have this running under 14.04

Have you seen this and especially this?

Lin545: Have you seen this and especially this?
No. I changed the wine to 1.7.12 and a box pops up saying it had encountered a serious problem. 1.6.2 causes a window to appear, than disappear.

EDIT but the 3D message went away.

Looking at your second suggestion, what module is that that's being modified?

I have purchased this game as well, but its in my backlog. I am running Debian Stable, but with Backports - meaning I have (almost) cutting edge kernel and 3d libs. I also have AMD GPU, but not GCN - a VLIW one, using r600g+radeon driver.

I will try to give it a spin today, but please run these (as regular user !) two and post the output:

glxinfo|grep -i opengl

lsmod | grep 'radeon\|amdgpu'
I have the game running well on Mint 18 (which is based on Ubuntu 16.04) using Wine Staging 1.9.18 via PlayOnLinux (details). As well as the other suggestions here, try installing it using the details I posted in the other thread & let us know how things go.

I am using an Nvidia GPU though

Huge thanks for looking in!

Please note that at one point I had it working but no sound.
I have Clonezilla'ed back to prior the playonlinux install. I lost a week but that didn't cost me much.
I will start over anew.

Huge thanks for looking in.

I had reinstalled it many times - once, it ran but w/o sound.
I Clonezilla'ed to before playonlinux install so will start off clean again, also using your recomendations

Off to experiment!

This is interesting!
You are running the same Mesa version as me and also have the same kernel driver(radeon), although a bit different hardware and my LLVM is older (3.5.0, you have 3.8.0). I will look into it.

Huge thanks!!!!! By the by, NWN(1) installs and works easily. So it's just NWN2.

EDIT - scrapped playonlinux and installed it with wine.
