Hi mates!

A few days ago I turned on my PC as usual, and GOG Galaxy started updating. However, a certain "Galaxyupdater.exe" was found to be harmful, and so I deleted it, but then I couldn't open Galaxy, and then I tried to reinstall.

Got this message:

ProgramData/Gog.com/Galaxy/redists/expat.dll
An error occurred trying to rename a file in the destination directory:
MoveFile failed; code 5.
Access denied.

Click retry to try again, ignore to skip file (not recommended) or cancel installation.

And I tried ignoring all these messages at first, but there were sooo many I didn't want to do that anymore.

I tried putting the Galaxy-folder in exceptions in my AVAST virus program because I know it was a false positive, but it didn't help. Then support asked me to take full control of the redists, but that hasn't helped either, what can I do to get Galaxy back?

Oh look, we haven't had a "GOG Galaxy is classed as dangerous by Avast" in at least 10 minutes.

Seriously, pages 1-3 of the forums is all on this topic!!!!!!
Try the steps listed here.

Didn't work, maybe I should just wait for GOG and Avast to update their programs?
Try installing Galaxy with Avast closed.
Thanks, that worked.
