Checked that thread before and found it unhelpful
Here is the thing when I launched the game from Origin I checked my TaskManager Processes and Mass Effect 2 did appear on it but after a few seconds it disappears.

In my experience most older EA games refuse to run without the legacy PhysX drivers (NFS SHIFT, Dead Space, etc.), also don't install ME3 before you've finished ME2.

Seems to be crashing. AFAIK there was / is something called DXDiag that may help find the reason, though I don't know if it works for all games or only the games I've seen support people ask its reading for.

I have seen an explination where the Mass Effect 2 Config maseed up the registry of the game to launch it from Origin.
It happens if you try to do the Save Transfer system.
I have to find the forum post to show you but I am just telling you what it might be.
And remember I had gotten this game to work before by doing this:
Rename MassEffect2.exe as MassEffect2Launcher.exe
Rename ME2Game.exe as MassEffect2.exe
Now it does not work.

So far the suggestions the EA forums gives is outdated.
EA is seliing a game that can't even be played.

I had the same problem with another EA Origin game just this morning.
Turns out I needed to replace a certain dll with one from another game.

You've probably already tried this, but it's the only thing I can think of:
1. delete the bin folder and save folder in ME2
2. run Repair Installation in Origin/Steam
3. add you save files manually to the save folder ... assuming you've saved them before deleting them
4. launch the f-n thing
This has worked for me in other games.
