Checked that thread before and found it unhelpful

Here is the thing when I launched the game from Origin I checked my TaskManager Processes and Mass Effect 2 did appear on it but after a few seconds it disappears.

Have you actually tried it?
In my experience most older EA games refuse to run without the legacy PhysX drivers (NFS SHIFT, Dead Space, etc.), also don't install ME3 before you've finished ME2.

Seems to be crashing. AFAIK there was / is something called DXDiag that may help find the reason, though I don't know if it works for all games or only the games I've seen support people ask its reading for.

So far I believe its a launcher issue and not a driver issue.

I have seen an explination where the Mass Effect 2 Config maseed up the registry of the game to launch it from Origin.

It happens if you try to do the Save Transfer system.

I have to find the forum post to show you but I am just telling you what it might be.

And remember I had gotten this game to work before by doing this:

Rename MassEffect2.exe as MassEffect2Launcher.exe
Rename ME2Game.exe as MassEffect2.exe

Now it does not work.

Zoltan999: Sorry to hear you've been unable to get it working on PC :/. May I ask why you don't want to play it on console? I'm guessing you probably just prefer the mouse & KB, over a controller for these types of games perhaps?

Elmofongo: And I have to rebuy some DLC

So far the suggestions the EA forums gives is outdated.

EA is seliing a game that can't even be played.
Ahhh, yeah, I understand...and IIRC, the DLC pretty much never goes on sale, or can be found for reduced prices, regardless that these games are a bit older now. Just gonna wish you luck, and hope you can find some solution, before pulling all your hair out. If nothing else, I would suggest just stepping back, and putting it on the back burner for a while, so you don't completely lose your sanity over this frustration. Might be a good time to check your backlog, and find something to play for a bit, then come back to this with a fresh outlook and chiller mindset. Hang in there brother....

Sigh, if other people are playing it this is obviously nonsense.

timppu: Have you tried contacting the Steam support, and the Steam forums? It would kinda make more sense as your game is from there.

Elmofongo: This is the EA Origin version.
Ah ok. Does EA Origin have a support contact?
I had the same problem with another EA Origin game just this morning.

Turns out I needed to replace a certain dll with one from another game.

You've probably already tried this, but it's the only thing I can think of:

1. delete the bin folder and save folder in ME2
2. run Repair Installation in Origin/Steam
3. add you save files manually to the save folder ... assuming you've saved them before deleting them
4. launch the f-n thing

This has worked for me in other games.
