I tried buying $60 worth of games this last winter sale, but I wasn't able to. My card kept getting declined and at no point did I receive any "confirmations" to fix the issue. It just kept telling me my bank "needed additional confirmation" or some such and I tried for several days and I know I had money on the account. I was trying to use an American Mastercard.

I've never had these issues in the past, so I really don't know what's happening. I'm really upset and honestly I feel like I've been scammed, even if my money wasn't taken from me. I was going to save myself a lot of money and now I have to wait another year til the winter sale is back? Or just keep waiting and hoping a sale comes so I can piecemeal all the games I wanted? This wouldn't of happened if I had just used Steam, I would be playing all of my games right now. Even if they aren't patched or have DRM, at least I can get access to them! it's pretty ridiculous how many people have payment issues. This has obviously been going on for a while, all it takes is one google search, with no fix in sight.

I'm upset and I think this is ridiculous. I don't mean to rant or be a jerk, but I am really disappointed that I just had to watch my entire Christmas catalogue go up in smoke when I had money in my hand I was willing to pay. Have any of you had these problems or know any solutions? I'd appreciate all the help I can get.

Have you tried to add money to your GOG wallet? Or were you trying to buy games directly from the cart?

Hello,

I wanted to buy games in sale. I try to add money to my GOG wallet through paysafecards for three days but still get error.
I used to have similar issues whenever I tried to pay though my virtual credit card (buying games directly or adding credit to the GOG wallet). For some reason those issues stopped happening whenever I kept my bank app open on my smartphone while finalizing shopping. I suspect it must be connected to communication issues between GOG and certain banking systems.
Never had any problems paying through Paypal, though.
Did you contact your credit card company to see if it was anything on there end? Some companies have a system in place for online purchases and this system may false flag some sites such as GOG as a risk, so it may be best to get in contact.

Try opening a support ticket. In the past, support awarded discounts that expired while experiencing technical difficulties. You may have to wait several weeks for a response.

The winter sale ran from December 13th until January 5th. You waited 2½ days after it ended to post about it on the forum. Regular users here can't do anything for you now, except offer the usual advice for future purchases:
* Get in touch with your bank or card issuer. It's fairly common for American financial institutions to silently block transaction attempts from foreign countries.
* If you currently have your card saved in the store as an encrypted token, remove it and manually enter your details instead.
* Instead of using the card to pay directly, try purchasing wallet funds. For whatever reason, some have reported this works when buying directly via card won't.
* See if you find the other available payment methods acceptable.
A reminder, if you are using a prepaid card, those tend to be US only and won't work internationally.

I've had minimal issues using Paypal to pay, but I'd suggest putting as much of your money into the wallet as you intend to be spending (or a bit more) and then purchasing from your wallet (Fees from Paypal are better when the amount is greater than $5).
