honglath: GOG ought to pull itself by its bootstraps and pay its team extra to add an Adult/NSFW/Sexual Content mailing subscription option.

It can put this discussion to rest.
This. There should be an additional "opt-in" checkbox when subscribing, just because you have to be an adult to subscribe, doesn't mean everyone wants to see this kind of content by default.

We are going the same circle again with the same result as always.

- Help me, I am getting evil porn mails and my kids are in danger.
- GOG should really give an option to unsubscribe of e-mails that have adverts for adult games in it (no other games would ever be harmful to my kids because ... reasons)
- I generally don't want to see any adult game on this store at all because I am getting physically ill if I have to see mostly unexplicit pictures of a game that contains virtual depictions of sex.
- GOG really needs a filter for those games (again - only these games because everything else is harmless)
- Everybody agrees that such a filter for ALL genres might finally stop these threads from reappearing again and again.

This is the way these discussions always end. Almost nobody is objecting to a filter for all genres.
GOG knows about these complaints but they are really slow in fixing or changing things in general (they prefer to spend time on stupid ideas like a subscription service instead of fixing their several construction sites). That is sad but it is the way it is. So we all have to wait until they finally will do something to prevent such useless discussion that will always end the same.

However if you guys really think that it's worth your time to repeat this circle again and again - go ahead ... I just don't think it will change anything at all.
OK, since not everyone monitors the Reddit page (and staff seemingly don't want to share this directly with the forum for some reason), you can actually contact GOG support and request to be taken off the NSFW mailing list.

Clearly there is a back-end which exists right now, it's just that GOG hasn't (or won't) develop the front-end in our account settings so we can toggle it ourselves.

So, for the customers here upset over these (imho incredibly benign) NSFW emails reaching your email you can open a support ticket and request to be taken OFF the mailing list for these adult promotions.

Dark_Light748: Seriously can gog stop doing this, it's disgraceful. Do they want me to unsubscribe?
It's a store which selling games : what do you expect ? : STEAM is FAR worse for such titles but at least some options exist (through the account settings and are working properly)

Once again in the emailing options there should be a box to untick such games : but behind this wanted feature some modifications should be made in the newsletters offers :

- the working team is slow : lack of manpower .... see the state of the library for the offline installers (yuck !!!)
- possibly some limitations in the back-end (filters for the store were added in the front end but not permanently) -> the fault of the parent company which just inject enough money.... I know from the support the store has some limitations... but i don't know if this wanted feature (asked by some users) could be implemented.

Alongside the filter (permanently) requested for the store (should be implemented in the account section IMHO) : if it's possible :

- have some patience (if this feature could be implemented) : at least while browsing the catalog it's possible to filter such titles (since a moment)
- actual course of action : either unsubscribe to the newsletters or put those mails directly in the bin.

i think i sum-up others already said and you are not the one to asking this. Personally if i'm not interested by any kind of games in the newsletters either i put them in the bin or i put the codes in the forums.

Hey there! You can actually reach out to our Support Team via ticket and ask to be excluded from the newsletters containing adult-oriented content (NSFW games). This way, you'll still receive the usual newsletters but not the ones mentioned in your thread. This goes to all people who feel similar to you.
Gog should not be hosting these games. This will be a dealbreaker for many users and publishers. And maybe its eventual downfall. Gross.

There's a spark of hope I see. Does it mean there are some preparations behind the scenes to give us more control over the content we see or wish to exclude? >.>

Who do you think you are to tell GOG what they should or should not sell? Let others enjoy what they like. YOU and people like you are disgusting because you are completely intolerant and egoistic.

If I am not mistaken they have already confirmed somewhere that they are working on a filter for adult games.

How many layers of BizDev/DevOps/Agile hell do they have to go though to implement a simple filter?

Ask them not me - fact is that GOG is really slow when it comes to technical changes in their service. It took them several YEARS just to add an option to sort sales by discount.
So I had enough of the ridiculously inappropriate emails and submitted a ticket.
This thread is why I avoid any discussion on the Internet where religion is in any wayinvovled; it degenrates into yelling matches between beleivers and "anti theists" and neither side comes out looking good. Any person who is no emotionally commited to one side or the other waould go away thinking "Thet are both nuts".
I still find it somehwat amusing, if disturbing, that so many of :The New Atheist" display exactly the same traits I dislike so much in over the top religious beleivers.
