Hi,
I've recently sent a request to GOG's support for a username change.

The first request was sent 12 days ago (yes, 12 days)...
After a few days of waiting, I thought "maybe there was some kind of mistake, or a bug, or whatever" because in the automatic response they said "We'll investigate your case and get back to you as soon as possible, normally within 12-24 hours.", and I know GOG's support is quite serious (from what I've heard of it).

Anyway, I sent a second request. This one is 6 days old...

I completely understand that sometimes the support needs a little longer to answer your request... but 12 and 6 days ?

So here I am, trying to get some attention on this forum so a moderator can help me solve this problem.

Thank you in advance.

I have an outstanding ticket for Support as well. I saw a disclaimer about them having a backlog of tickets. They just had a big sale and they're doing testing on Galaxy, and I think this is what's causing it. They also usually don't work on weekends or holidays. I'd imagine a name change is probably low priority. I have no way of knowing in your case in particular, but this just would be my guess. Hope this helps.
It kind of helps...

But why doesn't GOG allow us to change our username ourselves ? I mean, I guess GOG's support has more important things to do, as you said yourself...

I suppose they have their reason to do that but still, it is quite annoying, for the support members as for the players :/

It's a bit of a dated system, but better they be able to change it with regulations than every Moe, Larry, and Curly embarrassing everyone with absurd and constant name changes.
I completely understand that.

Why not restricting username change to, for example, once every 90 days ?

Well, again, I guess they have their own reason not to do it, because they probably already thought about that...

Still, thanks to you for the answers.

Why not? Some in here change their avatars every ten minutes.
Hi,

Ok, I don't know if my topic got some attention, but GOG's support finally answered to my request.

Thanks for your answers guys, and thanks to the support for solving the problem.

By the way, do I need to do something to mark the topic as solved ?

You choose an answer as the solution. Otherwise it'll stay open.
Oh ok.
Thanks man.
