For some reason I feel like my rep was about 380, and now I see it's at 340, so I just want to make sure if it's just my imagination or there's been some serious downrepping that happened to me in the past two days (which would be weird, since usually I just participate in funny and non-conflictory topics like Guess the Game and recommended books and whatnot, and I have been practically absent from GOG last week).

Looks like you've been hit by the NES/Tauto clan. I'm down 300 the past month or so and that's minor compared to some others.

I recommend you ignore it because there is nothing you can do and nothing GOG will do.

If that's the case (and not just misremembering my rep cause I don't really care about it or check it that much), it's strange, because I don't recall participating in a topic that included them (I was tempted, but then I was like, "Nah, it's not worth it!" and went back to my regular GOG topics and antics.). I've entered about five contests tops in all the years I've been here, so I guess that shouldn't be it. The one I've entered this year was several months back, before the summer.

Also - that's really horrible, he really downrepped everyone in the thread. GOG should really get their game up and start doing something about it.

People can downrep you for the lamest of reasons. You posted about how you redeemed the CD key? Talk about a downrep. Sorry, this is how GOG forums work now!

Anyways, I guess you can't check your rep movements. When I try to check who downrepped me, I essentially search all over the forums for that one post. Yeah, that's how it is. Can't see that changed.

Yeah, I've noticed how stuff regarding giveaways and redeeming keys has gone terribly downhill in the past few months but otherwise chatting seems relatively still alright as usual, save few threads where people got into arguments about some heated things and stuff.

But no longer is that true my dear! For now it is not high rated at all... even the mere thought of hosting a giveaway or contest and get the 'high rated', only later that this tag disappears entirely, is sickening. Its like the rep system right now is only but a roulette that chooses whatever it chooses without a question. Both good and bad are just as affected. Do people hate giveaways now or something?

To be honest, that thread isn't actually a giveaway but a contest. You're basically asking people for a commission of your character, and instead of paying them, you're offering them games that you got in a bundle (so basically you're paying less than a dollar for it, since it's Humble Bundle games like you stated), given that you don't even state that the winners will be raffled so I'm assuming you will pick the winner based on which drawing you like the most. So like Sachys said over there, it's no surprise that no artists have entered the contest.

However it's good that you've done some raffles before and if you check your thread now, it's high rated again, so it doesn't really fluctuate that much. If you'd really like your character done though, and have it be a good quality drawing, I suggest that you just ask for a commission here or over at DA/Tumblr - the going rate for a basic character without a background is usually five dollars or more (or at least used to be), and you'll get the full rights and everything like you wanted, and you get to support the artist. :) Hope that helps!
