How about a button instead? That definitely be more convenient, something like a self-destruct button on threads. Of course, it'd only be visible to the OP and it'd still need to pass through approval.

To throw out a suggestion, maybe adding in a noindex, nofollow to GoG's 404 page would be a good idea.
