CymTyr: I know that a game that just came out this year, it's a shooter, can't even remember its name because I gave up on it due to the GOG version not getting a patch for 3 months after Steam. There's several other examples if you look. Batman The Telltale Game gets episodes a week to two weeks after Steam. There's another example. One of a small studio, and one of a large studio. There's tons and tons and tons of games that don't get treated fairly by developers and publishers.
eiii: A delay by one or two weeks is not a problem for me. The real problem are games which do not get the patches on GOG after months or even years.
Fair enough, just providing some details. For some people, not getting the game released the same deal is a
huge deal. Personally, it's not a biggie for me either. The shooter, Inner Chains, was one of the games that didn't get patched for several months after the steam version got patched.
I'm more concerned about GOG's lack of ability to motivate publishers to release patches on time, and the perception that GOG regulars are some sort of leech on the industry.
