I agree that it would be nice to sort the library.

it should just be like a virtual bookshelf, with more than 5 spaces in a row, because that is ridiculous too

For the time until GOG (hopefully) brings back manual sorting and for people who use the webpage for the library and not Galaxy I would suggest to install Adalia Fundamentals from here. You will also get back the possibility to change the look to a bookshelf with boxes in it like it was in earlier days of GOG.
