Hello everyone.

I bought Bridge Constructor Portal yesterday. On the webpage it says that it comes with a level editor but I didn't figure out where the editor is. After some research I found out that the Steam version of this game is directly connected with the Steam Workshop, so now I am worried whether there is an editor at all and, in consequence, that there is an error at the GOG webpage (you can also find a screenshot of the editor there).

So I wanted to ask, do you know how to access the editor?

I contacted the support and it has turned out that there is no level editor in the GOG version. The product page has been updated accordingly.

It's not ok that they were claiming it was included. This is bad.

It seems that this was actually a copy paste error. They give me a refund and also have deleted the wrong description, so I guess it's fine. However, it's really a pity that the editor is excluded from the GOG version.

As in the game was removed from your account?

I'm not sure whether it's that level of dealbreaker for me or not. I'm pretty disappointed though as I don't feel there's any excuse for it. I'd guess it's a Steam workshop thing, but other developers keep the level editor in their games and just let us upload and download the files ourselves...

Yes, it's been removed.

I guess that the developers have focused on the Steam Workshop integration only and didn't think of a release at another platform back then. Now, instead of adapting the game for GOG, they went the lazy way and simply removed that feature.

Yes, it happens a lot now. Problem is people still buy these crippled titles (and even go mad requesting them regardless!), just look at the constant “where is my crippled workshop and creators club absent copy of Skyrim?” requests.

Yeah. Opus Magnum is (IMO) the right way to do it. The level editor is integrated to Steam Workshop on the Steam version, but instead of removing the editor, they just made it so that you share the files manually which is how level editors worked for years.

Lack of workshop support isn't the problem. It's when they remove the option to manually do the same things that it's a problem. I'm pretty sure you can manually install mods on Skyrim.

Yes, you may be able to if you can actually get them. A lot of modern took their work off the net due to being mortised on club and workshop, and a lot moved over to steam only because it’s “easier”. This is what I was getting at in the other thread, once something goes towards steam it slowly but surely disappears from the rest of the web, it’s just what a monopoly does, hence why beths and others want in on these closed markets.

It is, for the most part, actually possible to download files from Steam workshop for manual installation. I can't imagine this works for monetised mods, but for free ones it seems to work.
