The thing is, if Brexit triggers a domino effect, Germany will do everything in its power to keep countries in the EU- even if it means war. Since they are the de facto leader and wealthiest country in the EU, they have a good reason to keep countries in. The worst thing that could happen is something like the Civil War in the US- states start seceding for reasons, and the Union (albeit in this case, the EU) decides to preserve it through war.

Even if that wouldn't be considered politically suicidal, since they hold a large number of international and multilateral agreements that would go specifically against that kind of action, from a strategic point, they would almost certanly have to go agains another NATO member or at least a close ally to several other neighboring countries, and a move like that would triger a coalition against any kind of military action or else be attacked from all sides. And at the very least, people would quickly recognise how bad something like this would go against them, so there would probably be a huge civil insurection and definitely a direct refusal from the federal military forces of any kind of agressive movement. (Bundeswehr - Federal defence)

In short: not a chance.

Huh. Ok. Thanks for the clarification. Just the way I'm looking at it, it is very very close to what was happening in the USA in 1861. Its a very striking similarity. As to what Germany would do, nobody knows at this point.

Germany's army is a total joke today. Don't be silly.

lol, no...just look at Russia's Syrian intervention. I have my doubts any European army could do something like this. Certainly not Germany's (they're cannibalizing tanks, vehicles and aircraft for spare parts so only a part of the forces is really usable at any time...).

I actually wanted to show some humility and do a pic of the US Army, but that pic is just too cool. I just love the look on their face. :P

Most likely it's a WW2 veteran.
I recall seeing her on 9-may photos.

You sure about that? The German economy is the strongest by far, and that's the primary reason that the EU hasn't disintegrated, but what do the German people get for their trouble? For Merkel it's all about elitist ideology, but how many Germans identify with elite interests?

You never know what they'll do dude. The advantage the German people get is being able to travel and do business throughout the EU.

Since that doesn't require the existence of the EU, it doesn't seem like a particularly advantageous advantage.

Happy weekend everybody, regardless from where :)
Just go up a flight of stairs and you'll be fine.
Too lazy to read past posts- Are you Brits happy that it happened? BTW America portrays you guys as racist and/or ignorant as the motive to leave the EU so I was wondering whats the real version of the truth.

52% of the country are not all racist, nor is it likely that all 52% are ignorant. Such a view, if held by all americans, paints a dull view of americans.

It's worth noting that 48% of the country wanted to stay in the EU, despite some of them probably also being racist, and a significant portion of them also being ignorant.

So is a nation so heavily divided on this issue happy? Work it out yourself.
