The DRM-free initiative.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!

There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
<span class="bold">Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:</span>

Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

To reclaim your game, just use one of the keys that came with your box. You can find more detailed information on the Reclaim your games, DRM-FREE! page to see if your key is compatible and just where to go from there.

This is just the start of something much bigger. We plan to add more titles to the list in the future - it's a long and complicated process that involves negotiating with multiple parties and a scavenger hunt to retrieve forgotten key-databases - but then, we are on a mission here, we'll do whatever it takes.

JudasIscariot: As of right now, you can only redeem what's listed on the redemption page. We hope to add many more titles to that page but it will take time and all that :)

Kandrick: None of my keys are working.
Check to make sure you aren't entering them in lower case.

Make sure you don't have a Y entered instead of a V or something like that :)

I'm copy/pasting, so i doubt there's any error. I also double checked to be sure, but no dice.

JudasIscariot: (Don't get me wrong I think it's awesome we have this retail redemption thing going on I am just much more excited about another big thing coming up one of these days because reasons :D )
Is it the Easter Bunny? Because if this is about him I would hardly call it big :D. Unless, of course, we're talking about the Godlizza Easter Bunny...

Swonker: Used my Steam keys.
I got Clear Sky and CoP, but the SoC key is invalid.

Already tried that, says Code is Invalid.

No offense, but where do you think I got the SoC key that doesn't work?
I used the regedit method and copy/pasted
Can i redeem Mount & Blade : Warband Steam version on GOG?
I tried the Stalker SoC key, and neither copying the key from registry, nor looking at the key from the multiplayer screen, nor entering the code manually worked at all. I keep receiving "Code is Invalid." CoP worked fine though.
Sooo... Good News™ or just good news?
Unfortunately my original SOC key does not work (german DVD retail version).

Is this really supposed to work or is that just another boring april joke?

Wow, I really wasn't expecting this. It will be interesting to see which of my boxed games will end up being added. Anyway, I love you, GOG. I hope you know that. There's not many stores out there doing stuff like this.
Reclaiming games that were bought with DRM, I love this move GOG. One of the best features you have presented yet on your site.
"So far 9649 games worth $155,774 were already reclaimed DRM-Free!"

Is that accurate? Just today alone since this started? :O
It insists that my Call of Pripyat code is invalid.

bouncedk: So for your Steam copies of
Stalker: Call of Pripyat & Stalker: Clear Sky - The keys can be found within the client. They work.
Neither worked, both were found invalid.

bouncedk: For Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl you need to install it, run the game once and then enter regedit.
Win32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GSC Game World\STALKER-SHOC\InstallCDKEY
Win64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GSC Game World\STALKER-SHOC\InstallCDKEY
Managed to get it, but also invalid for some reason.

From what I recall these were my very first steam purchases. What now?
I'm really surprised you would be able to redeem Steam keys with this. Namely which they don't apply to the first part of the op's sentence 'unsupported types of DRM'. Plus I wonder if Valve would have an issue, considering it's a steam key to be used with their service, not outside of it at a competitors service.
