As a Linux user, I would argue against your claim that the zoom function is the only thing that worked. My native Linux binaries of the EE games from Beamdog have all worked great. And the interface is far nicer than the widescreen modded original on my 13" 1080p display.

From my artistic point of view. The "picture" is a lousy parody of the wonderful original portraits.

Obviously joking, but I had troubles with NWN I got from GOG on my Windows 7 PC, accessing multiplayer specifically.

As if the official campaign could still be ruined by (more) dull characters and dull quests ... ;P

I'm pretty sure the portrait is part of the original game though. You give Beamdog too much credit. ;)
